About this Work

I composed Dreamsuite during a lazy, hazy hot summer in New York between June 29th and July 3rd, 2003. The work was inspired by an odd set of unrelated dreams about a group of composers gathered in the Press Room of the White House, Washington DC; a hip group of hanging out mice; a stubborn ass that liked the rain; brilliant colors from inside a huge kaleidoscope and manic, Masonic wizards! Dreamsuite was premiered by the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble at Dublin Castle, Ireland, in February 2004.
