Laurent Estoppey and Virginie Falquet have asked me to write this piece and gave its premier in November, 2004 at the Théâtre de l’Oriental in Vevey, Switzerland. At the time, I was working with serial composition procedures, which obviously had a profound influence on the finished version of this duo.
