About Calabria
Dieses Werk ist eine Komposition in Form von Thema und Variationen, inspiriert von dem kalabrischen Volkslied Pacchianella calabrisi. Die Melodie wird hier in fünf mehr oder weniger virtuosen Variationen präsentiert.
Calabria wurde im Auftrag von Andrea Graziani geschaffen und vom internationalen Solisten Steven Mead anlässlich des 10-jährigen Jubiläums des Musikvereins «Armonie dello Stilaro» in der Stadt Pazzano, Italien, uraufgeführt.
