Trumpet Concerto No 1
for trumpet, strings and basso continuo
TP153a Piano reduction (solo part included) - CHF23.00 (Print)
Johann Wilhelm Hertel (1727-1789)
Strings: 6.5.4.3.
The present concert is the longest and most highly developed of Hertel’s three trumpet concertos from the point of view of form. All of them were probably written for a certain Mr. Hese, concerto player at Schwerin court who must have been a great performer: Let us remember that he played this and other pieces, with all their virtuoso runs, quasi-cadenzas, and difficult figuration, without valves!
