Philippe Mabboux (*1957)

Philippe Mabboux

Philippe Mabboux was born in 1957 in Marseilles, France. After doing scientific and technical studies, he studied music at the Conservatory and at the University of Aix-en-Provence. He studied with Pierre Villette (composition and music theory), André Boucourechliev (musical analysis), Marcel Fremiot (electroacoustic music), studied choral conducting, jazz piano and (especially) organ with Jean Costa and René Saorgin.

For the past twenty years his musical activities have been divided between composition, concerts, teaching (Estérel School in St. Raphaël in the south of France) and conducting. A musician open to all kinds of music from both today and yesteryear, Philippe Mabboux has closely followed the evolution of electronic instruments and also has his own recording studio.
