About Sonata N° 2
The first movement is called Fantasy, for no particular reason, other than gratitude for being alive! In the second movement, Meditation/Elegy, the slow, "dirge" theme reflects not only the somber aspects of life, but also the Eternal. There is beauty in sorrow as well as in joy. The third movement is a "collage" of waltz ideas, derived from varied idioms. It's just pure fun.
