Adam Khoudoyan (1921-2000)

Adam Khudoyan was born in Yerevan in 1921. Studying under Vartkes Talian, he graduated from the composition course at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, then gained further experience at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Moscow, where his teachers from 1946 to 1948 were G. About Elégie

Simple and poignant lyricism

This Elegy is a lament (con dolore) which expresses through a simple and poignant lyricism of great dignity the mesureless suffering of the Armenian people. The sound of the tuba in the low register gives this music a magical quality.
