About Summer Song

In April 2004, Richard Lane wrote this Summer Song for violin and piano in anticipation of his traditional summer stay in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where he met his many musician friends with whom he gave informal serenades.

His great qualities of piano writing are reflected in this short dialogue with the solo violin. The result is a charming and entertaining work.
