Rachel Kincaid is pursuing a degree in trumpet performance at the Eastman School of Music where she is a recipient of the Lois Smith Rogers Scholarship and a student of James Thompson. Sounds echoing across a vast river valley...

This piece is about the sounds one might hear echoing across a vast river valley in the middle of an undisturbed forest. A faint call, either animal or human, echoing in the distance. The sounds fade in and out and eventually change and we hear parts of a mournful song.
