About Boreas
A melody from Icelandic folklore
Boreas stands for the “North Wind” of Greek mythology. In Scandinavian mythology, it was known as BOR, father of Odin, chief of the ancient pagan gods Asar and his brothers. This piece, taken from the Tuba Concerto Maes Howe, is based upon a melody from Icelandic folklore sung to numerous texts of sagas.
