Íma is a fairy maiden from an Icelandic folk tale. It tells of when she approaches a peasant in the fields with affection also promising him access to a book with supernatural powers. When, after denying to deliver the book back, the peasant has to kill the four fairies which are Íma´s family or die himself. The tale tells that after these happenings, no fairies were noted at Berunes cape where this was supposed to have happened.
