About Agnus Dei

It is a prayer, an appeal for the peace of souls

Agnus Dei was written during the period of war time in the former Yugoslavia, and I was shaken by the terrible destiny of women and children who became the spoils of war. I wanted to react in my way by composing an Agnus Dei in memory of these sacrificed lives, utilizing several latin texts from the liturgy. It is a prayer, an appeal for the peace of souls. Caroline Charrière, Fribourg, Switzerland, September 1993.
